A PATTERN 1885 CAVALRY TROOPER'S SWORD, first issue date 1888, with 34 1/4 in. slightly curved plain bladed fullered on both sides, ricasso marked broad arrow / 'W D' / 'Y. C' * bend-test X, and Enfield inspection marks, with Birmingham inspection marks and issue dates of /93, /88, and 4/89 over, steel guard with pierced Maltese Cross, black impressed lather grips, together with its steel scabbard with throat stamped '1893 / Y / Dy / 15', bladed with some minor staining towards the point, hilt stained with rust patches, grips heavily worn, scabbard worn with shallow dents and smoothed pitting, 41 in. overall
